The Czech Open Windsurfing Championship in the disciplines Funboard Slalom Clasic & Foil and Bic Techno 293 Slalom will be held in Viganj on the southwestern part of the Pelješac peninsula from 19th to 24th of July 2021. The competition is open so that other nations can participate.

Viganj, which has only three hundred inhabitants, hosts one of the championships almost every year. Just as a reminder: in 2013 the World Championship in windsurfing in the discipline of formulas was held in Viganj, and Viganjs opponent to be chosen as host was San Francisco.

Championship organizer Pavel Winkler: “This year we expect more than forty competitors. For now, we know that Slovenian Olympian Stojan Vidakovič, multiple Croatian champion Vladan Desnica, the brothers Matulj and the Czech team Petr Čech, Jakub Zima, Martin Sladky, Milan Kir and triple Olympian Patrik Hrdina are coming to the regatta.”

In Viganj, the spirit of sport is felt at every step, the wind is ideal, it blows almost every day, most often it is a mistral that is extremely suitable for windsurfing and kitesurfing.
