Although it offers spectacular views, this climb requires good physical preparation and compliance with safety measures, for the experience to be pleasant and safe.
Planning the climb
Before you set off on the climb, plan your adventure thoroughly. Sveti Ilija is considered a medium to demanding hike, with several different trails leading to the top.
At the beginning of each trail, there is an information board with information about the difficulty of the trail.
Choose the trail that best suits your physical capabilities. It is possible to start from four directions towards the top of St. Ilija. The best overview and description of the terrain can be seen on the interactive map peljesacoutdoor.hr, on the website sigurnestaze.hr or on the printed outdoor map of Pelješac that you can download from tourist information centres or at the reception desks of hotels and camp grounds.
