More than three thousand spectators at the first Pelješac Festival Orebić
Orebić turned into the most beautiful summer music stage and thus took its place alongside the world’s largest metropolises. The auditorium was completely packed, there weren’t enough seats
The first Pelješac Festival Orebić delighted the residents of Pelješac, as well as numerous guests who chose the south of Dalmatia for their vacation this summer. From July 20 to 22, the location of Mlinica in Orebić turned into an attractive summer stage where the choir and soloists of the Bucharest National Opera performed with the famous maestro and tenor José Cura, accompanied by the Bucharest Metropolitan Orchestra.
Ester Pavlu, Boris Lukov, Teodora Tchoukourska and Emil Zhelev performed famous opera arias, as well as rock and pop music, in a unique Mediterranean setting, under a starry sky and the baton of Vilijana Valtcheva, Danijel Jinga and José Cura.
These were three evenings of real pleasure, full of emotions that were set in motion by superb music with its universal language, while special applause went to the children of the Orebić Elementary School choir, who performed at the beginning and end of the first evening.
The festival ended with a grandiose performance of Verdi’s monumental work Messa da Requiem. This was its first performance in Orebić and the Pelješac peninsula, and the artists and organizers of the festival dedicated it to everyone in the world who lost the battle with Covid.
Maestro José Cura, a great lover of Pelješac, played a multiple role in Orebić this year. He is the general and artistic director of the three-day festival, and after a job well done, he announced an even bigger spectacle for next year. See you at the 2023 Pelješac Festival Orebić.
