This is the eighteenth edition of the event through which Pelješac winemakers aim to promote and strengthen the brand “Plavac Mali”, from which many renowned wines are made. The event continues the efforts of local winemakers and winegrowers to promote Pelješac wines and wine routes, bringing their products closer to citizens, restaurateurs, tourism professionals, wholesalers, and everyone involved in the wine, trade, and tourism industries.

This year’s event takes you along the Pelješac wine roads, wineries, cellars, and tasting rooms of many local producers. In addition to tasting young, high-quality, and premium wines from the famous “Plavac Mali” variety, visitors will learn about the story of this grape, the various locations where it thrives, and the technologies used to produce wines of exceptional quality.

In other words, Plavac Mali can produce — and does produce — a wide range of wine categories, ensuring there is something for every taste. So come and join the eighteenth edition, visit the wine cellars, and experience the unique flavor of Plavac Mali.

On Friday, December 5, many wine lovers will enjoy wine-themed festivities. At the Putniković Cooperative, ten oenologists will evaluate young wines of native varieties. In the afternoon, at the Bezek Winery in Janjina and at the Cultural Center in Kuna Pelješka, visitors can enjoy live music, local delicacies, and the unmistakable taste of Pelješac Plavac.

Saturday, December 6, is reserved for an organized wine cellar tour. After the opening ceremony at the Veliki Kaštio fortress in Ston at 11 a.m., with performances by Klapa Geta, Klapa Ston, the Ston Brass Band, and the Folklore Ensemble Poloneza from Orebić, the tour continues through Ponikve towards the Wine Museum in Putniković.

At 2 p.m., winemakers from Janjina will present their wines in the Community Center in Janjina, accompanied by the traditional wine goulash. The tour then continues to Potomje, known for its top-quality Dingač wines and the main hub of the event.

In Kuna Pelješka, local winemakers will gather to welcome visitors. At the Museum of Pelješac Tradition, within the Boutique Winery Mikulić in Mokalo, guests will hear stories about the history of local winemaking and taste wines paired with Pelješac specialties.

After the tour, the celebration continues in the Community Center in Potomje with good food and excellent wines.

The event is organized by the Association Plavac Mali – Pelješac, Pelješac Wine Roads, and the Chamber of Crafts of the Dubrovnik-Neretva County, in cooperation with local tourist boards and municipalities, the Dubrovnik-Neretva County, the Dubrovnik-Neretva Tourist Board, and Pelješac winemakers.
