In Love with Orebić Since 1969

In August 1969, spouses Hana Kozerová (then Hoštičkova) and Jiří Kozer set off from their native Prague on a summer holiday with her parents. They travelled in an old Škoda, with a tent far more modest than today’s, but full of enthusiasm and youthful joy.

Their first stop was Rovinj, but due to unusually cold weather they decided to head further south. The road led them to a place that would become their favourite destination: Orebić and Mokalo. There they found peace, warm hosts, excellent food, and above all a beach they still call the most beautiful in the world – Vala in Mokalo.

Although financial circumstances later kept them from travelling for some time, as soon as the opportunity arose again in the 1980s, they always returned to Orebić. They came to Croatia as passionate campers, enjoying gatherings and meeting people from different countries. Today, in their later years, they no longer camp but stay in an apartment, now with the Marušić family in Mokalo (Apartments Branka-Mokalo).

Their visits to the Adriatic have become even more special in recent years, as they now come with their grandchild, creating new family memories alongside the old ones. They have already booked their stay for next year because, as they say, Orebić has become their second home.

Marko Galiot, Destination Management Director of the Orebić Tourist Board, congratulated them and thanked them for their long-standing loyalty, presenting them with a certificate of appreciation and a painting of Orebić, and wished them many more sunny and happy summers in Orebić.
