Trstenik

Spectacular views

Small place of winemakers & fishermen

Already from the main Pelješac road, when you look down to Trstenik, you’re going to want to go down to this small place of winemakers and fishermen. Because of such beauty, it shouldn’t be a problem to make a turn.

Located at the foot of a hill, surrounded by pine forests, olive groves, and vineyards, Trstenik attracts you with its beaches, coves, and clear waters. This attractive seaside town, which is also suitable for boaters, was once a port for exporting wine. A village was built around it, first in the hinterland, and since the 19th century, along the coast itself.

Archaeological finds on the Ćućin hill confirm that people lived here in the Stone Age, so Trstenik is one of the oldest places on Pelesac.

Tips and tricks: from Trstenik, a road leads through the Dingač vineyards to Potomje, which is perfect for walking or cycling. It offers spectacular views of the islands of Mljet, Lastovo, and Korčula. Charming.

A final fun fact! If you are a wine lover, you have probably heard of Miljenko Grgić, also known as Mike Grgich. This winemaker, a native of Croatia, owns wineries at two addresses: in California and Trstenik. His American Chardonnay won against French wines for the first time in history. This is the event of 1976 known as the Paris Verdict.
