Preparations for the fifteenth Pelješac Wine Cellar Open Days wine event are in full swing. The announced organized arrivals from Zagreb, Zadar, Split and the Dubrovnik-Neretva County lets us know that fans of Plavac Mali have recognized this event, which it has become a top wine event that everyone wants to visit.

The event offers the opportunity to visit wine cellars, the Wine Museum, wineries and taverns in the rural area of ​​Pelješac, from Ponikve to Mokalo. The organized tour of the wine cellars departs from Ston on 3 December at 11 a.m. An organized welcome of all guests will be held in Kaštio with a corresponding programme and the Geta a cappella band, wine and Pelješac delicacy tasting. After this, the tour will head to the wineries in Ponikve and the Wine Museum in Putniković.

In the Janjina community centre, a meal (red wine beef stew) is organized with the wines of the winemakers of the municipality of Janjina.

If you want to taste Kuna specialities and enjoy wine, six winemakers will welcome you in Kuna and offer their specialities and wines at affordable prices.

The centre of the event is in the most famous wine village of Potomje, where the top Croatian winemakers, known for the unique Dingač wine, one of the best in the world, originate.

The newly opened family winery, which also includes the Mikulić Museum, opened its doors this year for visiting and viewing and tasting its wines.

This year, on 2 December in the afternoon, in addition to the tour of the Pelješac cellars, as part of the event an evaluation of the young wines of the 2022 vintage will be held in the House of Wine Tradition in Putniković.

Twelve young oenologists from Pelješac will evaluate autochthonous varieties and award diplomas for the best rated young wines: Rukatac, Pošip, other white varieties, Rose, Plavac Mali, Plavac Mali from special locations and other red varieties. After tasting the evaluated wines with the stew, visitors will be able to enjoy the Kaše a cappella band concert.

On 2 December in the afternoon, in Kuna Pelješka the Kuna winemakers gathered in one place will, in addition to tasting their wines, also offer lamb on a spit from OPG Antunović, green menestra at affordable prices, accompanied by live music.

The project was realized in cooperation with the Dubrovnik-Neretva County, Dubrovnik County Chamber of Commerce, Dubrovnik-Neretva County Chamber of Crafts and Trades, municipalities and the Pelješac Tourist Board, and with the support of the popular water brand – Romerquell. The entire wine-tourism product is integrated under the name – Pelješac Wine Cellar Open Days, one of the largest events in Dalmatia.
