Church of Our Lady of Loreto – Delorite (Kuna Pelješka)

You have to visit it. This church in Kuna Pelješka was built in 1681 in honour of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Loreto, locally known as Our Lady of Delorite.

The three-storey Neo-Renaissance bell tower, the interior of the church with five altars, the monastery built over 40 years and a protected cultural monument today – all of them are highlights of sacral architecture and a place of special peace and prayer.

In addition to more than 300 votive tiles, the church houses a gallery of paintings by the Franciscan Ambroz Testen and the famous painter Mato Celestin Medović (who was from Kuna Pelješka).

The feast of Our Lady of Delorite, who was also chosen by the Municipality of Orebić for its patron, is celebrated on 10 May.
