Pelješac out of the summer season is ideal for outdoor activities. The mild Mediterranean climate and diverse nature will delight even the most demanding adventurers.

Viganj and Kućište are two places known to windsurfers and kitesurfers for a long time. You can surf all year round, or maybe you will decide to rent a kayak or a S.U.P. Autumn and spring are particularly attractive when the days are not too hot. These two places exude a sporty spirit!

Hiking on St. Ilija, the mountain above Orebić, is the perfect off-season activity. It will take you two to three hours to reach the top, which is located at 961 metres above sea level, depending on your pace and the path you choose. You will enjoy incredible views, Mediterranean herbs, holm oaks and various pines, and on your way, you might meet horses and mouflons. An interactive map is found on the www.peljesacoutdoor.hr website, where you can download the gpx track and read the instructions for safely reaching the top.

Cyclists, depending on the type of terrain they prefer, can opt for asphalt and ride over the entire Pelješac with a road bike, on EuroVelo 8, also known as the Mediterranean route, which runs through Croatia from the north of Istria to the south, all the way to Dubrovnik. For mountain bikers, riding Pelješac, which is naturally preserved, is a real adventure. Riding through the forests, open fields, old vineyards and olive groves will delight you.

If you are more into walking, you will enjoy a walk along the coast or in the forest, visiting the old captains’ houses. Choose one of the proposed walking routes, there are as many as eight of them.

You can view hiking, walking and MTB routes on the interactive map of Pelješac, download gpx records and read route descriptions. All of the information can be found on the www.peljesacoutdoor.hr website, and you can pick up a printed map at the info centre in Orebić.
